THE BOROUGH OF WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY, PA is seeking applications for the position of a Full-Time Department of Public Works Driver/Laborer. Qualified candidates shall meet the minimum requirements of being 18 years of age or older, U.S. citizenship, possess a high school diploma or higher degree, have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a safe driving record, ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, ability to operate various types of truck vehicles and equipment, and previous experience in performing street maintenance/repairs and snow plowing. Preference will be given to candidates with prior work experience as a DPW employee or one performing similar duties. An addition to the hourly rate will be paid to candidate who has a valid CDL license currently or when one is attained. A Pre-Employment Physical Examination, Drug Testing, and Background Check are required upon an offer of employment. The Union positions also provide health insurance, pension, paid holidays, and vacations.
