PUBLIC LEGAL NOTICE – Taxation Council Meeting
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Virtual Meeting of West Pittston Borough Council to be held on December 22, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. prevailing time. The public may participate by dialing in at 6:30 pm using the following phone number, 1-844-855-4444. The Access Code is 1504199. Borough Council will consider and act upon a proposed Ordinance which levies on all real property within the said Borough subject to taxation for general Borough purposes for the fiscal year of 2021 a tax in the sum of 3.8951 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation, plus an additional 0.3999 mils tax for indebtedness, for a total of 4.2950 mills. The amount of revenues estimated to be derived from these taxes are as follows:
- 3.8951 Mills $786,837.89
- 0.3999 Mills $ 80,830.00
Said proposed Ordinance is as follows:
ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF WEST PITTSTON FIXING THE TAX MILLAGE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF 2021 BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED, and it hereby enacted and ordained by the Council of the Borough of West Pittston, as follows:
That a tax be and the same is hereby levied on all real property within the said Borough subject to taxation for Borough purposes for the fiscal year 2021 as follows:
Tax rate for general Borough purposes, the sum of 3.8951 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
That in addition to the above tax, an additional tax be and the same is hereby levied on all real property within the said Borough subject to taxation for the purposes of paying interest and principal of the indebtedness incurred pursuant to the Act know as the Local Governmental Unit Debt Act, said tax to levied as follows:
The sum of 0.3999 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation, said tax to be assessed for the fiscal year 2020 and those subsequent years as shall be set forth in specific and express language in the annual ordinance fixing the tax millage.
That any Ordinance or Resolution or parts of Ordinances or Resolutions not consistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
