THE BOROUGH OF WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY, PA is seeking applications for the Union position of a Full-Time Department of Public Works Driver/Laborer. Qualified candidates shall meet the minimum requirements of being 18 years of age or older, U.S. citizenship, possess a high school diploma or higher degree, have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a safe driving record, ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, ability to operate various types of truck vehicles and equipment, and previous experience in performing street maintenance/repairs and snow plowing. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a valid CDL license and having some prior work history and experience as a Department of Public Works employee. A Pre-Employment Physical Examination, Drug Testing, and Background Check are required upon an offer of employment. Any applicant not possessing a valid CDL license upon being hired must agree to obtain one within 60 days of being hired. This Union position also provides health benefits, pension, paid holidays, and vacations.
